Submission documents

Submission, review and publication are free of charge. The Review does not charge authors or their institutions at any stage.

Submission instructions

Read the Author Guidelines page for author information and submission criteria.

Academic articles and student articles must be between 4,900 and 7,200 words, including the abstract, keywords, main text, footnotes, bibliography and table text. Each table and figure counts as 250 words. The bibliography contains no more than 15 works. Legislation is not included in the bibliography and does not count towards this number. The abstract is no more than 50 words in each language.

Full texts are submitted only through the Review's online submission system. If you are submitting to a special issue or special section call, select the relevant section in the system.

The work must not have been published elsewhere and must not be under review elsewhere. Only full texts ready for peer review are submitted to the system. Abstracts or extended abstracts are not accepted.

Academic articles undergo double-blind peer review. Student Forum papers are not counted as peer-reviewed articles and appear in a monthly bulletin.

Work types

The Review publishes under two main headings: academic articles under double-blind peer review, and the Student Forum, which is reserved for articles by undergraduate students.

Academic articles

Type Words Abstract (each language) Bibliography Review
Research article 4,900–7,200 No more than 50 words No more than 15 works Double-blind, two reviewers

A research article addresses an original question using scholarly method and adds new knowledge to the field.

Student Forum

Type Words Abstract (each language) Bibliography
Student article 4,900–7,200 No more than 50 words No more than 15 works

A student article is an article in which undergraduate students examine a current question with their own assessment. It is read blind by one assessor and appears in the free monthly Student Forum Bulletin (PDF and EPUB). The rules are on the Student Forum page.

Submission steps

  1. Create an account in the submission system. Link your ORCID account.
  2. Click "New Submission" and select the article type.
  3. Upload the anonymised full text, the title page and the signed Author Declaration and License Form.
  4. Enter the title, abstract and keywords in Turkish and English.
  5. Add all authors with their institutions and ORCID iDs.
  6. Confirm the declarations and submit.

You will receive an email notification when your submission reaches the system. You can follow each stage of the process in the system.

Works sent by email are not considered.

Copyright in the work remains with the authors. When the work is accepted for publication, the authors grant the Review permission to publish and distribute it first. All authors sign the Author Declaration and License Form, which is uploaded as a PDF at submission.

The fact that authors retain copyright does not mean that the work may be republished elsewhere as a new work. That would be duplicate publication. Authors may share their work on personal pages, in institutional repositories and on academic profiles with a citation to the publication in the Review. Details are in section 4 of the Publication Principles page.
